// About the Organization

The Marianne Center is a non profit organization, focused on narrowing gaps and providing each child with an opportunity to thrive and reach their potential. The center has a wide variety of responses and programs in education, treatment, training, enrichment and more.

// Project Description

As part of the process of creating a supportive community for mothers of children with special needs, the program will run continuously throughout the year and will offer the mothers a variety of services and activities. The program will include support groups, training groups, and lectures. Additionally, as part of the program, there will be trips, relaxation and enrichment workshops such as jewelry making, ceramics, baking and crafting. The Marianne center will also incorporate dyadic interventions that focus on the relationship between the mother and the siblings of the special child.

// Project Goals

The purpose of the project is to create a community for mothers of children with special needs, in order to empower and support one another. To develop and strengthen mutual assistance between the mothers, as well as guide new mothers whose children were recently diagnosed. The program provides on-going as well as one-time activities, professional treatment, sport groups, lectures, enrichment workshops and more. The goal is to construct a supportive environment and respite for mothers whose routine can be challenging.

// Target Population

250 mothers of children with disabilities living in the region of Kiryat Gat. The Marianne center believes that the impact will be significant – in parenting, relationships, work, and the mothers' ability to cope with life challenges associated with raising a child with special needs.
