// About the Organization
SAHI is a game-changing program to rehabilitate at-risk youth. Rather than offering help, we ask the youth to help others, transforming them into agents of positive change who also assist others.
// Project Description
SAHI is an innovative model that creates a partnership with the youth, filling them with a sense of meaning, responsibility and belonging. The youth secretly provide food for impoverished families and initiate various giving activities such as renovating homes of elderly people, volunteering with Holocaust survivors and more. SAHI focuses on neighborhoods in the socio-geographic periphery and involves many volunteers and community members.
// Project Goals
Providing the participants with a consistent and stable framework for volunteering and giving activities, will lead to positive change in them. Participation in the program will provide the youth with a sense of belonging and meaning and increase their self-worth and sense of ability.
// Target Population
About 80 teenagers between the ages of 13-18, soldiers and alumni, from diverse backgrounds, with an emphasis on at-risk youth, along with 120 families and elderly people who receive the food packages, as well as the communities from which the youth come from.

// Outcomes
In the short term: operating units in Kiryat Gat, Nehora and Nir Oz. 80 teenagers will participate in the activity on a regular basis, providing for 120 families and elderly people who receive assistance on a weekly basis. 15% of the participants in each unit will take part in a leadership training program.
// Project Timeline

// Budget Sustainability
The program has been operating in Kiryat Gat since 2009 and in Lachish since 2011. Throughout the years SAHI has ensured continuity via collaboration with municipal and philanthropic partners. SAHI remain committed to sustaining the program.
SAHI will continue operating the program even if the Partnership cannot fully support it and will reach out to other partners who will hopefully provide the necessary funding.
// Project establishment status
The program has been operating in the Partnership Region for several years.
