Ofanim promotes equal opportunities in education for children from the social and geographic periphery of Israel, through enriching STEM hands-on activities.
// Project Description
Ofanim has developed an innovative model of mobile labs that overcome the lack of resources limiting educational projects in the periphery. Our STEM enrichment programs for grades 3-6 offer empowering, hands-on learning, foster skill acquisition and confidence in shaping the children's future. Each group enjoys a program of 30 weekly 75-minute sessions led by two counselors throughout the year, and also includes 3 peak days.
// Project Goals
To reduce gaps in STEM education and expose to new fields of STEM content. To strengthen a sense of competence and encourage curiosity, communication, expression and thinking. The project will boost motivation to learn and succeed and enhance OECD-defined learning skills and strategies. STEM program will provide exposure to higher education.
// Target Population
Elementary school children in the partnership region. Participants: 160 children in eight groups (20 children per group). Additional circles of influence: Family members (over 500), educational staff, and community members (about 100)
