// About the Organization
Lachish Community Center is a professional social hub in the Lachish Regional Council, promoting quality of life, resilience and belonging through entrepreneurship and community partnerships.
// Project Description
The program provides ongoing leisure frameworks for children and adults with disabilities in the Lachish Regional Council. The program includes ‘Moadoniyot’ (a weekly educational-therapeutic framework that operates after school hours) in Eastern and Western Lachish. The program runs adapted classes and activities, an active Parents’ Forum that is involved in decision-making, family peak events and community initiatives promoting awareness, inclusion and acceptance.
// Project Goals
The program aims to reduce social isolation of children and adults with disabilities in rural Lachish. The Leisure Activities program will strengthen a sense of belonging and community connection, empower parents as partners, develop accessible leisure frameworks and raise public awareness for inclusion, acceptance and rights for people with disabilities.
// Target Population
The target population includes children and adults with disabilities in the Lachish Regional Council and their families. The program will directly serve approximately 50 children and 30 adults, with indirect impact on about 120 family members and hundreds of additional residents through community and awareness events.

// Outcomes
Expected short term outcomes: having the different parts of the program – the weekly meetings at the clubs (Moadoniyot), the Parents’ Forum, and family events strengthen the feeling of belonging. Expected outcomes in the long term: reduced social isolation, developing parental leadership, promoting positive community attitudes and sustainable inclusive services within the Regional Council.
// Project Timeline
Throughout the year, weekly meetings will take place in the clubs (Moadoniyot) for children and adults. A Parents’ Forum will meet quarterly. Family peak events will take place during holidays and vacations, in addition to four community awareness events. Throughout the year there will be ongoing guidance, monitoring and evaluation.
// Budget Sustainability
Financial sustainability will be ensured by integrating the program into the Community Center and Council budgets. Diversifying funding sources, developing a volunteer network and strengthening parent leadership to support continuity and reduce costs over time.
If the partnership will not fund the full requested sum, the program scope will be reduced: there will be fewer peak and awareness events, fewer activity hours and limited professional support. The lack of funding will affect continuity, the number of participants and overall community impact.
// Project establishment status
The program operates in the Partnership Region.
