// About the Organization

A national organization that has been operating since 1991 to improve the lives of disadvantaged populations in Israel. The organization supports more than 3,000 children across the country.

// Project Description

During summer vacation and extended holiday breaks, including Hanukkah and Passover, children from disadvantaged families will participate in a rich and varied program. This program will include both individual and group academic reinforcement to address learning gaps that may have occurred during the school year. In addition, children will engage in experiential activities, classes and enrichment workshops such as sports, arts and crafts.

// Project Goals

Reducing risk situations during the holidays, narrowing gaps, exposing children to areas of knowledge such as art and science; creating space for self-expression; equal opportunities for children in at-risk situations to learn, advance and develop; acquiring skills and abilities.

// Target Population

Approximately 50 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, including many immigrants from Ethiopia who are facing various risk factors. Circles of influence – approximately 100 family members- siblings and parents.

// Outcomes

Short-term outcomes: to enrich the children’s knowledge, broaden their horizons; explore diverse cultures. Experience in music, science, art, & tech; develop life skills. Long-term outcomes: foster creativity & critical thinking; bridge gaps; promote inclusion; integrate into Israeli society.

// Project Timeline

Summer vacations, Hanukkah and Passover vacations.

// Budget Sustainability

To ensure long-term sustainability, Beit Yedidim will diversify funding through donations and partnerships and will promote the program within the community. This will enable the organization to enhance its impact and continue to serve the evolving needs of the children. If the partnership is unable to fund the full required amount, Beit Yedidm will be forced to make adjustments to the program. A full budget will ensure more activities and better trained staff.

// Project establishment status

The program takes place in Kiryat Gat.
