// About the Organization
Hinneni Association strives to eradicate racism and prejudice towards the Ethiopian community by cultivating a positive affective presence of the Ethiopian heritage and history, through the communities and through Beta Israel Village.
// Project Description
During the program and the visit to the of Beta Israel village, the students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiential activities and workshops that will expose them to the heritage and culture of the Ethiopian Jewish community. A tour of the village explaining the journey of Ethiopian Jews to Israel, a personal story of immigration, clay sculpture, a dance workshop, writing in Amharic, ecological construction in mud and more.
// Project Goals
The purpose of the project is to strengthen a sense of identity and belonging. To provide students from different backgrounds the opportunity to learn directly about the heritage of Ethiopian Jewry, thereby deepening a sense of belonging and pride among Ethiopian students. Other goals include deepening tolerance and inclusion, creating a direct encounter that connects students from different backgrounds and to promote understanding, tolerance and mutual respect.
// Target Population
The target population includes teaching staff and school students from Kiryat Gat. About 1200 participants
// Outcomes
Expected outcomes include increasing awareness among school students in Kiryat Gat as to the heritage of the Ethiopian Jewish community, raising the number of visitors to the village in a substantial way and creating collaborations with schools. Long term outcomes include a significant change in the way the Ethiopian community in Israel is treated.

// Budget Sustainability
Bate Israel village has been operating for about 16 years.
If the Partnership will not fund the full requested sum, the program will be budgeted from the association's own income.

The project is already working. April 26 - June 26: strategy meeting with the principals of the schools in Kiryat Gat – presentation of the proposal and the variety of activities and workshops that exist in the village
