// About the Organization

Kol Israel Haverim-Alliance is a leading educational organization in Israel, promoting educational excellence and leadership in the periphery, unifying Israeli Judaism and connections to Sephardic Tradition and French Jewry.

// Project Description

The program is a unique KIAH initiative, operating for over a decade to address barriers holding back girls in the periphery. The program runs in 20 schools with a continuous path from grades 8–12, enabling long-term support and a meaningful educational and social journey. The program includes math reinforcement for 4-5 matriculation units, empowerment workshops, exposure to high-tech and academia, female role models and preparation for a meaningful army or national service.

// Project Goals

Increasing the number of girls from the periphery who graduate with a high-quality matriculation certificate, including 4–5 matriculation units in mathematics, while promoting educational excellence, women’s empowerment and STEM. The program strengthens self-confidence and exposes participants to female role models.

// Target Population

378 girls between the ages 14–18 from four schools in Kiryat Gat who show considerable potential in science and technology. The program also impacts thousands of other students and teachers citywide by promoting equality and raising awareness for women’s issues.

// Project Timeline

During the summer: preparation for the next year. Sept–Nov: program launch, meetings, registration and partner recruitment. Year-round: math tutoring and mentoring, empowerment workshops, WIX project and visits to high-tech companies and academic institutions. June: exams and graduation.

// Budget Sustainability

The program partners with committed stakeholders from diverse sectors, local authorities, foundations, companies and private donors. The organization continually works to expand the circle of partners, including finding local partners for Kiryat Gat.
If the Partnership won’t fund the full requested sum, the organization will need to adjust the activity volume to the reduced budget, either by reducing certain activities or by reducing the number of participating schools.

// Project establishment status

The program operates in Kiryat Gat.
