ENP transforms the lives of Ethiopian Israelis as well as at-risk youth by meeting their educational, emotional, social and nutritional needs and unlocking pathways to excellence and opportunity.
// Project Description
ENP’s SPACE program in Kiryat Gat empowers Ethiopian Israelis and other students in-need through four weekly hours of after-school instruction, one-on-one mentoring and engaging activities. Ethiopian Israeli professionals, often act as role models. In addition, the participants receive a healthy lunchtime meal. SPACE boosts academic achievement, confidence, emotional resilience and opportunities for meaningful post-high school placements.
// Project Goals
The purpose of the SPACE program in Kiryat Gat is to support Ethiopian Israelis and other students' in-need, between seventh and twelfth grade. The goals are to improve academic outcomes, build confidence and resilience, enhance emotional wellbeing and expand access to future educational and career opportunities.
// Target Population
This program will support 443 students from Kiryat Gat between the seventh-twelfth grade. 20% of the students are not from the Ethiopian community. Many of them have a significantly lower socio-economic status compared to their Israeli peers.

// Outcomes
Expected short term outcomes: 90% of 12th graders acquire full matriculation, 70% of the students achieve university-qualifying certificates, 80% of the students will improve in at least one subject. Long term out comes will include improved emotional wellbeing and confidence, developing leadership, parental involvement and the full integration of Ethiopian Israelis into society.
// Project Timeline
SPACE 2026-27: Sept–Nov: mapping of needs, group formation, parent workshops, twice a week study session. Dec–Mar: study marathons, workshops, interim reports and winter exams. Apr–Jun: exam prep, activities, spring exams, end of the year reports.
// Budget Sustainability
ENP ensures sustainability through diversified funding, including federations, foundations, municipal partnerships, private philanthropy and ongoing donor engagement, alongside continuous evaluation to strengthen impact and long-term support.
If the Partnership won’t fund the full requested sum fewer children will be able to participate in this program.
