Four community initiatives for four selected communities will be chosen as part of the program.

  • Stronger municipality–resident relationships.

  • Stronger connections among the different communities.

  • Sustainable infrastructure within the municipality and among residents to support future independent work in social entrepreneurship and community resilience.

// Budget Sustainability

As part of the ongoing activities, participants of the program will meet and become familiar with the different municipal professionals who will serve as the long-term contacts for consultation and support.

The program will also promote work practices among municipal employees that encourage public participation and strengthen municipality- resident relations.

In addition, a peer-learning forum and enrichment meetings will be held to provide participants with practical tools that will support their continued community involvement in the long term, while fostering partnerships, sharing knowledge and learning from the participants’ experience.

All of these will help the communities and the municipality sustain the program’s outcomes even after its conclusion.

The regional council is working with government ministries to secure additional funding for strengthening community resilience and community safety.

If no additional funding is secured, the scope of the training programs and the educational study tour will be reduced.
